There is no better place to bring in the New Year than tucked away in the Rocky Mountains at Sunshine Village.
Spend the day skiing or riding Canada's Best Snow right here at Alberta's favourite ski resort before feasting your eyes on our magical New Year's Eve torchlight parade.
Sunshine employees will be guided down Strawberry Face at about 7 p.m. on Dec. 31 carrying torches, and you will have the opportunity to watch the magnificent, lighted parade.
And that's not the only feast being offered at Sunshine.
To get the best view of the festivities, head to the Eagle's Nest Dining room and enjoy an exquisite New Year's menu being prepared by our in-house chef.
Menu items to be featured include your choice of Alberta beef tenderloin poached in cabernet sauce or pan-seared Alaskan black cod in an elegant lobster sauce, to name a few.
With best early season snow in nearly 20 years, and a mild - 8 Celsius temperature forecast for New Year's Day, this promises to be a great skiing and riding holiday at Sunshine Village.
Because it is a popular time of year, day guests to Sunshine are advised to arrive early to get the best parking. Shuttles will be running all day long to whisk skiers and riders to the gondola drop-off. A limited number of parking spaces are also available for $25 per day in Sunshine's VIP lot, and there is daily bus service between Banff and the resort.
