Mt. Norquay Famed Mountain Smoker Event

Mt. NorquayWhat is the Mountain Smoker?
The Mountain Smoker is an endurance race where competitors ski Norquay’s Lone Pine run as many times as they can in three hours. The actual race will start on Saturday March 20th at 12:00 midday. Competitors will start according to the time that they record in the Preliminary qualifier.

Saturday March 20th , 2010

When are the qualifying runs being held?
Qualifying runs are the morning of Saturday March 20th, 2010 between 9am and 11:30am. It is important for everyone interested in participating in the Mountain Smoker to try to come out for the qualifying runs. Each participant will be required to do two runs of Lone Pine. The timing of your two runs will determine what order you will go in. If you are unable to make it for the qualifiers, you will start at the back of the group.

When is the race being held?

Saturday March 20th 2010 from 12pm to 3pm

Where do I obtain a pledge form?
Customer Service desk at Mt. Norquay.

When do I need to register by?
Registration will take place Saturday March 20th, 2010.

Is there a minimum donation?
No – any money raised is a help.

What is the Mountain Smoker raising money for?

The money raised will be going to help fund the purchase of new toys for the Banff Child Care Center.

Not only will you be raising money for a great cause – you are competing for the coveted Burnt Boot Trophy! The record has not been broken in the last 29 years – set at 23 runs by Bob Rankin (pictured above).
