Things To Do In Banff
Norquay Drive
The drive up to the Norquay ski area (which is closed over the summer) is a winding mountain road. On the last switchback, right near the top you will find a stone wall on your right. This is the popular view point of the town of Banff and Bow Valley. You can see Vermilion Lakes, Sulpher Mountain, Mount Rundle and Banff. It is quite common to see Big Horn Sheep on this road. Cougar's are rarely seen here. (Please stay in your car if you see wildlife for your own safety and theirs as well).
From Highway 1 take the Norquay exit, or follow the Norquay road from downtown Banff. Drive slowly as it is a winding road and there can be cyclists and pedestrians on it.
Early in the morning or evenings, you might see some alpenglow in the sky.
