Banff Avenue Blocks 100, 200 and part of 300 will be a pedestrian zone once again this Summer.
Already in effect with no autos, more space will be available to peruse the shops, restaurants and downtown area. Physical distancing and all safety measures are still required.
Cyclists are allowed in the pedestrian zone, but must obey all signage and yielding to pedestrians.
Free parking options exist as well as shuttles and a secure ‘bike valet’ to safely lock up your bikes should you want to spend some time on foot in the zone.
Specific details of these services can be found at the Town of Banff.
You will fall in love right away with Banff Avenue. There are many shops, restaurants and art galleries. If you are stopping in at every little shop, your day will go by quickly.
Not many shops are open before 9:00 am, but local coffee shops are open for early risers and you can watch how Banff starts a day. Late afternoon is when this street gets busy and around lunch time it is quieter and you can take your time strolling up and down each unique side.
